Who we are

Tea Break Poker Trainer ("Tea Break", "the app") is made by Childish Things Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 05428336), registered office 2 Rathcoole Avenue, London N8 9NA ("we", "us"). We decide how your information is used. You can reach us through the support form at teabreaktrainer.com/support.

The short version

Tea Break keeps a record of your lessons so it can teach you, and copies it to our cloud service so your progress survives a new phone. There are no ads and no tracking, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone. The only analytics are the purchase reports Unity's software sends, described below.

What we keep, and why

Your progress. Each answer you give (the spot, the action you chose, how far it was from the best play, and how long you took), the lessons you start and finish, and your scores. It is kept on your device, and when you are connected a copy is kept in Unity Gaming Services' Cloud Save so you can carry on from another device. It is linked to a player id, not to your name or email. We need it to provide the app: your streak, your progress and your rating are all worked out from it. It also carries a random number for this installation, so records from two devices never clash.

A player id. The app creates an anonymous player id with Unity Gaming Services the first time it connects. You can link it to a Unity account (with Google, Apple or an email address) so your progress survives reinstalling. Unity runs that sign-in, so we do not see your email address or your Google or Apple account; we receive only the id. Like any online service, Unity sees the internet address your device connects from and uses it to work out roughly where you are, such as your country. The app never asks for your device's location.

Your name in the app. The app gives you a name made of two words, such as an adjective and a noun. You do not choose or type it, and it is not your real name.

The leaderboard. Once enough of your answers are rated, your rating and your app name appear on a leaderboard other players can see. You can take yourself off it in Settings, which also turns off friend requests.

Friends. If you add friends in the app, the service keeps which player ids are friends, have asked, or are blocked.

Invite links. A link you share contains your player id, so the person you invite can find you. On Android, if someone installs the app from your link, the app reads Google Play's install referrer once to connect the invite, and keeps nothing else from it.

Subscriptions. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, or Steam on PC. We never see your card details. The app keeps only which subscription you hold and when it ends, and copies that to your progress so it works on your other devices.

Purchase analytics by Unity. The part of the app that handles purchases is made by Unity, and it reports to Unity each time the app signs in and at each step of a purchase: your device model, operating system, language, the device's total storage and when it was last started, Unity's installation id, your player id, an identifier Apple gives the app for your device, and what was bought, at what price. We cannot switch this off. It is not used for advertising.

Lesson content. The app downloads lesson content from our content server, run on Cloudflare. As with any web request, the server receives your device's IP address and the kind of device it is. These downloads are not linked to your player id. Cloudflare handles those requests on our behalf. We have not turned on any request logging, so we hold no record of who downloaded what.

The support form. If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message by email so we can reply. Cloudflare runs a check that you are not a bot (Turnstile), which sets no tracking cookies. We delete the email once the matter is closed.

What we do not do

No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across other apps or websites, no analytics of our own, and no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos. We do not sell or rent your information.

Who handles it for us

Unity and Cloudflare process some information outside the United Kingdom. Cloudflare relies on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and both use the standard contractual clauses approved for UK transfers.

How long we keep it

As long as your Tea Break account exists. When you delete it, it is removed as described below.

Deleting your account

In the app, Settings, then Delete Tea Break account. This removes your place on the leaderboard, your friends, everything in Cloud Save and the copy on your device, and deletes your player id. If you linked a Unity account, that account belongs to Unity, and you can delete it at https://player-account.unity.com/delete-account. If you no longer have the app, use the support form at teabreaktrainer.com/support, choose Privacy or my data, and give your name in the app (the two words and the number after them, shown in Settings); we will delete the account.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. You can reach us through the support form at teabreaktrainer.com/support. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Age

Tea Break is for adults (18 and over). It is not meant for anyone younger.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
